2021-10-28all: go fix -fix=buildtag std cmd (except for bootstrap deps, vendor)Russ Cox
When these packages are released as part of Go 1.18, Go 1.16 will no longer be supported, so we can remove the +build tags in these files. Ran go fix -fix=buildtag std cmd and then reverted the bootstrapDirs as defined in src/cmd/dist/buildtool.go, which need to continue to build with Go 1.4 for now. Also reverted src/vendor and src/cmd/vendor, which will need to be updated in their own repos first. Manual changes in runtime/pprof/mprof_test.go to adjust line numbers. For #41184. 2020-10-21cmd/compiler,cmd/go,sync: add internal {LoadAcq,StoreRel}64 on ppc64Paul E. Murphy
Add an internal atomic intrinsic for load with acquire semantics (extending LoadAcq to 64b) and add LoadAcquintptr for internal use within the sync package. For other arches, this remaps to the appropriate atomic.Load{,64} intrinsic which should not alter code generation. Similarly, add StoreRel{uintptr,64} for consistency, and inline. Finally, add an exception to allow sync to directly use the runtime/internal/atomic package which avoids more convoluted workarounds (contributed by Lynn Boger). In an extreme example, sync.(*Pool).pin consumes 20% of wall time during fmt tests. This is reduced to 5% on ppc64le/power9. 2019-06-06runtime: mark all Go symbols called from assembly in other packagesAustin Clements
This marks all Go symbols called from assembly in other packages with "go:linkname" directives to ensure they get ABI wrappers. Now that we have this go:linkname convention, this also removes the abi0Syms definition in the runtime, which was used to give morestackc an ABI0 wrapper. Instead, we now just mark morestackc with a go:linkname directive. This was tested with buildall.bash in the default configuration, with -race, and with -gcflags=all=-d=ssa/intrinsics/off. Since I couldn't test cgo on non-Linux configurations, I manually grepped for runtime symbols in runtime/cgo. Updates #31230. 2018-05-03sync/atomic: redirect many functions to runtime/internal/atomicCherry Zhang
The implementation of atomics are inherently tricky. It would be good to have them implemented in a single place, instead of multiple copies. Mostly a simple redirect. On 386, some functions in sync/atomic have better implementations, which are moved to runtime/internal/atomic. On ARM, some functions in sync/atomic have better implementations. They are dropped by this CL, but restored with an improved version in a follow-up CL. On linux/arm, 64-bit CAS kernel helper is dropped, as we're trying to move away from kernel helpers. 2015-11-10runtime: break atomics out into package runtime/internal/atomicMichael Matloob
This change breaks out most of the atomics functions in the runtime into package runtime/internal/atomic. It adds some basic support in the toolchain for runtime packages, and also modifies linux/arm atomics to remove the dependency on the runtime's mutex. The mutexes have been replaced with spinlocks. all trybots are happy! In addition to the trybots, I've tested on the darwin/arm64 builder, on the darwin/arm builder, and on a ppc64le machine.
