2005-09-07Big tool rename.Junio C Hamano
As promised, this is the "big tool rename" patch. The primary differences since 0.99.6 are: (1) git-*-script are no more. The commands installed do not have any such suffix so users do not have to remember if something is implemented as a shell script or not. (2) Many command names with 'cache' in them are renamed with 'index' if that is what they mean. There are backward compatibility symblic links so that you and Porcelains can keep using the old names, but the backward compatibility support is expected to be removed in the near future. 2005-08-31Fix git-log-script when HEAD is invalid.Junio C Hamano
It used 'die' without including git-sh-setup-script; since everything it uses are subdirectory-aware, instead of including the script to force it to be run from the top, use echo & exit. Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <junkio@cox.net>
2005-08-24Audit rev-parse users again.Junio C Hamano
Some callers to rev-parse were using the output selection flags inconsistently. Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <junkio@cox.net>
2005-08-23Make "git-rev-list" work within subdirectoriesLinus Torvalds
This trivial patch makes "git-rev-list" able to handle not being in the top-level directory. This magically also makes "git-whatchanged" do the right thing. Trivial scripting fix to make sure that "git log" also works. Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <junkio@cox.net>
2005-07-27git-log: make sure we have some commit to start from.Linus Torvalds
When no usable head/tag is specified, git log barfed with underlying error message from rev-list, which was not helpful. Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: Junio C Hamano <junkio@cox.net>
2005-07-10Make "git log" exit properly if not in a git archiveLinus Torvalds
Instead of getting an incomprehensible error message from git-rev-list.
2005-06-13Make "git log" use the new git-rev-parse helperLinus Torvalds
See the previous commit for explanations.
2005-06-01Add "git" and "git-log-script" helper scripts.Linus Torvalds
The "git" script is just shorthand: "git xyz <args>" will just execute "git-xyz-script <args>", which is useful for people used to the CVS naming convention. So "git log" will run the new git-log-script, which is just a wrapper around the new pretty-printing git-rev-list. Cheesy.
