And then revert the bootstrap cmd directories and certain testdata.
And adjust tests as needed.
Not reverting the changes in std that are bootstrapped,
because some of those changes would appear in API docs,
and we want to use any consistently.
Instead, rewrite 'any' to 'interface{}' in cmd/dist for those directories
when preparing the bootstrap copy.
A few files changed as a result of running gofmt -w
not because of interface{} -> any but because they
hadn't been updated for the new //go:build lines.
Fixes #49884.

There used to be two BoringCrypto-specific behaviors related to cipher
suites in crypto/tls:
1. in FIPS-only mode, only a restricted set of AES ciphers is allowed
2. NOT in FIPS-only mode, AES would be prioritized over ChaCha20 even if
AES hardware was not available
The motivation of (2) is unclear, and BoringSSL doesn't have equivalent
logic. This merge drops (2), and keeps (1). Note that the list of
FIPS-only ciphers does not have priority semantics anymore, but the
default logic still sorts them the same way as they used to be.

Test NoRaceMutexPureHappensBefore in runtime/race/testdata/mutex_test.go
expects the second spawned goroutine to run after the first. The test
attempts to force this scheduling with a 10 millisecond wait. Following
a suggestion by Bryan Mills, we force this scheduling using a shared
variable whose access take place within the existing mutex.
Fixes #35745.

As part of #42026, these helpers from io/ioutil were moved to os.
(ioutil.TempFile and TempDir became os.CreateTemp and MkdirTemp.)
Update the Go tree to use the preferred names.
As usual, code compiled with the Go 1.4 bootstrap toolchain
and code vendored from other sources is excluded.
ReadDir changes are in a separate CL, because they are not a
simple search and replace.

When c.elemsize==0 we call raceacquire() and racerelease()
as opposed to calling racereleaseacquire()
The reason for this change is that, when elemsize==0, we don't
allocate a full buffer for the channel. Instead of individual
buffer entries, the race detector uses the c.buf as the only
buffer entry. This simplification prevents us following the
memory model's happens-before rules implemented in racereleaseacquire().
So, instead of calling racereleaseacquire(), we accumulate
happens-before information in the synchronization object associated
with c.buf.
The functionality in this change is implemented in a new function
called racenotify()

Add a test to ensure that the race detector sees that closing a
channel synchronizes with a read from that channel.
This test case failed when CL 181543 was in the tree.
CL 181543 was reverted in CL 216158; this adds a test to make
sure that we don't re-introduce the problem at a later date.

They aren't really races, or at least they don't have any
observable effect. The spec is silent on whether these are actually
races or not.
Fix this problem by not using the address of len (or of cap)
as the location where channel operations are recorded to occur.
Use a random other field of hchan for that.
I'm not 100% sure we should in fact fix this. Opinions welcome.

This is a git merge of master into dev.boringcrypto.
The branch was previously based on release-branch.go1.9,
so there are a handful of spurious conflicts that would
also arise if trying to merge master into release-branch.go1.9
(which we never do). Those have all been resolved by taking
the original file from master, discarding any Go 1.9-specific
edits.
all.bash passes on darwin/amd64, which is to say without
actually using BoringCrypto.
Go 1.10-related fixes to BoringCrypto itself will be in a followup CL.
This CL is just the merge.

This CL adds an automatic, limited "go vet" to "go test".
If the building of a test package fails, vet is not run.
If vet fails, the test is not run.
The goal is that users don't notice vet as part of the "go test"
process at all, until vet speaks up and says something important.
This should help users find real problems in their code faster
(vet can just point to them instead of needing to debug a
test failure) and expands the scope of what kinds of things
vet can help with.
The "go vet" runs in parallel with the linking of the test binary,
so for incremental builds it typically does not slow the overall
"go test" at all: there's spare machine capacity during the link.
all.bash has less spare machine capacity. This CL increases
the time for all.bash on my laptop from 4m41s to 4m48s (+2.5%)
To opt out for a given run, use "go test -vet=off".
The vet checks used during "go test" are a subset of the full set,
restricted to ones that are 100% correct and therefore acceptable
to make mandatory. In this CL, that set is atomic, bool, buildtags,
nilfunc, and printf. Including printf is debatable, but I want to
include it for now and find out what needs to be scaled back.
(It already found one real problem in package os's tests that
previous go vet os had not turned up.)
Now that we can rely on type information it may be that printf
should make its function-name-based heuristic less aggressive
and have a whitelist of known print/printf functions.
Determining the exact set for Go 1.10 is #18085.
Running vet also means that programs now have to type-check
with both cmd/compile and go/types in order to pass "go test".
We don't start vet until cmd/compile has built the test package,
so normally the added go/types check doesn't find anything.
However, there is at least one instance where go/types is more
precise than cmd/compile: declared and not used errors involving
variables captured into closures.
This CL includes a printf fix to os/os_test.go and many declared
and not used fixes in the race detector tests.

If we substitute a SHA1 implementation where the entirety of the
reading of the buffer is done in assembly (or C called from cgo),
then the race detector cannot observe the race.
Change to crc32 with a fake polynomial, in the hope that it will
always be handled by Go code, not optimized assembly or cgo calls.

The test sometimes fails on builders.
The test uses sleeps to establish the necessary goroutine
execution order. If sleeps undersleep/oversleep
the race is still reported, but it can be reported when the
main test goroutine returns. In such case test driver
can't match the race with the test and reports failure.
Wait for both test goroutines to ensure that the race
is reported in the test scope.

TestNoRaceIOHttp does all kinds of bad things:
1. Binds to a fixed port, so concurrent tests fail.
2. Registers HTTP handler multiple times, so repeated tests fail.
3. Relies on sleep to wait for listen.
Fix all of that.

The assumption is that there are no nested function calls in complex expressions.
For the most part that assumption is true. It wasn't for these calls inserted during walk.
Fix that.
I looked through all the calls to mkcall in walk and these were the only cases
that emitted calls, that could be part of larger expressions (like not delete),
and that were not already handled.

The test is flaky on builders lately. I don't see any issues other than
usage of very small sleeps. So increase the sleeps. Also take opportunity
to refactor the code.
On my machine this change significantly reduces failure rate with GOMAXPROCS=2.
I can't reproduce the failure with GOMAXPROCS=1.

Some race tests were sensitive to the goroutine scheduling order.
When this changed in commit e870f06, these tests started to fail.
Fix TestRaceHeapParam by ensuring that the racing goroutine has
run before the test exits. Fix TestRaceRWMutexMultipleReaders by
adding a third reader to ensure that two readers wind up on the
same side of the writer (and race with each other) regardless of
the schedule. Fix TestRaceRange by ensuring that the racing
goroutine runs before the main goroutine exits the loop it races
with.

Currently TestRaceCrawl fails to wg.Done for every wg.Adds if the
depth ever reaches 0. This causes the test to deadlock. Under the race
detector, this deadlock is not detected, so the test eventually times
out.
This only recently became a problem. Prior to commit e870f06 the depth
would never reach 0 because the strict round-robin goroutine schedule
ensured that all of the URLs were already "seen" by depth 2. Now that
the runtime prefers scheduling the most recently started goroutine,
the test is able to reach depth 0 and trigger this deadlock.

understood by racewalk. It seems quite complex to handle it
in the compiler, so instead just instrument it in runtime.
